Over the last few weeks the Grade 3 students have been learning about forces in their Inquiry unit. We have been looking at air resistance and friction. In groups our students were asked to design and create a parachute that would be dropped off the grade 3 classroom balcony. The challenge given to the students was that they would have secure an egg in their parachute and have it land safety on the ground. Most groups of students were successful in this task learning that they need a greater surface area when designing and creating the parachute.
