There is only one week to go until the end of term, and things don’t look like they are going to slow down any time soon. Still to come this term:
- State Tee-ball finals
- Year 5 & 6 netball gala day
- Grade 1 and Foundation excursions
- Year 2 & 4 open classrooms
- Year 5 & 6 Production – Aladdin
- Footy Colours Day
Spring has Sprung
As we begin to see more and more blue sky, it’s time for the friendly reminder about wearing school hats. We are registered as an official SunSmart school, and as such, student must wear a hat from the start of Spring until the end of Summer. School hats are part of our school uniform policy and must be sunsmart. Also, please make sure that your child’s hat (and all school clothing for that matter) is clearly named so we can avoid ending up with a lost property rack bursting with the weight of quality uniforms that don’t seem to have a home.
Lights, Camera, ACTION!
If you happened to be in the school over the last few weeks, you would have noticed our Year 5 and 6 students singing and dancing in the hall, as rehearsals for our production of “Aladdin” increase with the performance only a week away. After watching some of the rehearsals (and hearing them every day from my office), I can tell you the audience won’t be disappointed; it’s going to be a GREAT show! The work that has gone into costumes, props, choreography, singing and rehearsals is outstanding and all those involved need to be congratulated for their efforts.
Chinese Whispers
I have always believed that as a school community, it is our responsibility to:
- model positive behaviour to our students and the wider community
- treat all members of our school community with respect
- work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students
- create a safe and supportive environment for our students to learn
- communicate constructively with the school and use appropriate avenues when raising concerns
Toorak Primary is a great school, and together we provide amazing opportunities for our students to learn and achieve in a safe and supportive environment. Sometimes things happen that we may not agree with or are beyond our control, and we need to work as one to support each other to move forward for the benefit of our most important assets; our students.
If you are unsure of information you have heard through whatever means, please contact the school directly so that we can provide you with facts and discuss the misunderstandings you may have.
Should I stay or should I go?
You might be shocked to know that planning for the 2020 school year is in full swing! To assist us in making sure we are ready for next year, if you or anyone you know hasn’t enrolled or intends on not being a part of our school community in 2020, could you please let us know.
