This morning The Department of Education building contractors met to discuss the timeline for our final double storey building for this site. Works are due to begin in the September school holidays. During the construction process, 2A and 2B students will relocate to the hall for Term Four. As in the past, there will be considerable disruption to our daily routine but looking on the bright side, the weather will be better and the new classrooms should be ready for the 2019 school year. We are fortunate to have three architects on Buildings and Grounds sub-committee -Clare Cousins, Susi Leeton and Melanie Beynon. In consultation with all three, high quality outcomes are achieved for Toorak Primary School students and community.
I wish to remind school families that any child who turns five years of age before April 30th, is eligible to start school in 2019. Please contact the school office to enrol children for 2019.
Community focus groups for the school review will take place tomorrow so that community feedback can be added to the self- evaluation component of the review. There are four broad questions for which comments will be sought. School Council members will also provide responses to the same questions.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all fathers and special men in our children’s lives, a very Happy Father’s Day for Sunday. Thank you to Leigh Ashlin for putting such a huge effort into organising this year’s Father’s Day Event -Circus Oz and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
