What a night of fun and frivolity! The Fashion Parade certainly lived up to its reputation of an outstanding community event as well as a hugely successful fundraising event for our school. So many Toorak Primary School parents of alumni enjoyed socialising with each other as well as laughing along with MCs Kate, Angela and Louise.
Thank you to parents who acted as DJ for the night, served refreshments to those present and sold tickets at the door. Staff who modelled the recycled garments looked extremely stylish in their skilfully coordinated fashions. Thanks to Martina Egan for promoting the event at assemblies in the weeks leading to the event.
A special message of thanks to all involved in promoting the night, especially Kylie Coleville for her enduring efforts over the past years.
The first Transition Day took place last Tuesday with nearly 100 students in attendance. All new preps were settled and ready to learn as I guided a tour group through the school. One prospective parent for 2020 couldn’t believe it was the very first Transition Day since the children were so focussed demonstrating high levels of concentration. School Council president Nicholas Wade welcomed families to the school while the pop- up book shop proved a popular choice. Both new and recycled uniforms were purchased with one parent very thankful for the beautifully laundered school dresses for sale at very reasonable prices. Thanks to the administration staff as well as the classroom teachers and parents who supported a highly successful commencement to the 2020 transition program.
