School Parking Restrictions

A reminder for parents to please adhere to parking restrictions around the school out of respect for our neighbours.

Below is an email sent to the school by a disappointed neighbour who has subsequently contacted the police and parking officers:

I’m sorry that I have to write this email as I really don’t want to be one of those neighbours, however it has gotten very bad and I feel that I need to contact the school. I leave for work early and I come home late so 85% of the time I am not there to experience the mad school rush. I empathise with parents that they are in a rush and our home may seem like a convenient place to stop however, as you can appreciate, it is our property and not for them to use as a car spot. Over the past few weeks we have had parents park across our drive, in the no standing opposite our house in the small, no standing gap between our place and our neighbours. The parents have no regard for our property and also our need to get in and out of our drive way. Last week a very rude man parked his car opposite our drive and there were 2 cars parked either side of our drive (illegally) therefore I could not get out. I needed to get to a work meeting. After I had to wait for him to return to his car, over 5 minutes, I asked him not to park there, to which he gave a rude reply. There are other drop off points and we feel the school should be encouraging people to use them and not park in residents driveways. Our garage door has been hit twice this year causing damage. We would appreciate you educating parents to respect your neighbours and the law. Thank you for your help.
