Congratulations to the Grade 5/6 girls who competed in the Tommy Lahiff at Murphy Reserve on Friday 22 June. It was fantastic to see such high level of skills and interest in girls’ football. The Toorak team played 4 games against other schools in the district and won all of their games by a large margin. After four successful wins, Toorak girls team made it to the Final and won against Armadale Primary School, taking home a very impressive trophy-(have a look when you’re in the office next time!)
A very big thank you to Michael Agnew for being a valuable support on the day and at such short notice-we couldn’t have done it without you! A big thank you also to Lachlan Mooney and Leah French for the training sessions they held for the girls prior to the competition. A special mention to Emma Hoban for winning the Most Valued Player from Toorak Primary School. Emma was hungry for the ball, read the play well and had the umpires all talking about her skills.
I was very proud to see the Toorak values displayed when Matilda Noble gave advice to another girl from the opposing team to improve her performance. It showed fantastic sportsmanship. Congratulations to all of the girls who competed and the impressive effort they put into the games. They were real superstars and showed incredible talent. Well done!
