The last fortnight has been incredibly busy for the Grade 4’s. Last week, continuing our focus on sustainability and life cycles, we had an incursion from Busy Bees. The students were buzzing with excitement. We had a fantastic demonstration on how beehives work, and even got to interact with honeycomb frames! Our conversions centred around pollination, sustainable practices and the contribution of bees to the environment.
The students left this incursion having a greater understanding of the world around them, and the interactions of ecology within our environment.
This week as part of Literacy week, we were fortunate enough to have a visit from Ricker Racker Club author, Patrick Guest. Patrick was highly entertaining and informative, performing an interactive role play tour through his book. He highlighted the importance of equality and always trying your best, especially when you face a challenge.
