Grade 4 Term 3 Week 3

Term 3 week 3 and been incredibly busy.

We kicked off the week with an excursion to the Melbourne Museum. Students had a fantastic time exploring the exhibits, and posing new questions within the fields of science and culture. While there was a lot to see, including the geology section which will tie in with our term 4 science, the main focus was the First People exhibition as it is part of our history component this term, exploring European settlement.

On Tuesday we had our House Athletics Carnival, at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. There was a multitude of events including, 100m sprint, 200m sprint, hurdles, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus and relay. We had an excellent day, students actively participated in all events and had a great time.

This week is also Literacy week. To help celebrate Wednesday was a fancy dress day, where students could dress as a book character they liked. The costumes across year 4 were brilliant, with a lot of high effort outfits. The morning started with a whole school assembly where we had a parade, followed by cross class buddy reading. Grade 4 was paired up with grade 3 and they compared and discussed their books.

The book fair will remain open in the Hall for purchasing books before and after school for the rest of this week.

A big thank you to all of the parents who helped out in our events this week. Without your contribution we would be unable to run these experiences.
