Specialist Programs

Each week, all students participate in four specialist lessons, each lasting 60 minutes, taught by our talented team of specialist teachers. The specialist subjects include Music/Performing Arts, Visual Art, Physical Education and French.

Music/Performing Arts

We offer an extensive performing arts and music program for students at all levels that enables them to explore and develop their talents in various aspects of the arts, fostering a lifelong appreciation for music and performance. Opportunities abound for a range of musical experiences, including drama, dance, school choir, and string and orchestra ensembles, culminating in a biennial musical production. Previously, our students have performed The Lion King Junior, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Peter Pan and a Night at the Museum. Our students also enjoy events such as Battle of the Bands, Music Soirees, Coffee Morning Performances and our famous Toorak's Got Talent!

Visual Arts Program

Our visual arts program provides a comprehensive and enriching learning experience that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression in every student. Our program offers an opportunity for students to explore using a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and textiles. Our students' artworks are showcased at our biennial Art Show, celebrating their achievements and creativity.

Physical Education

Our Physical Education program offers a diverse range of activities aimed at promoting physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, cultural awareness, and overall well-being among our students. House activities, our interschool sports gala days and our numerous sporting clinics provide many opportunities for students to practice and showcase their skills. Through these activities, we encourage a healthy and active lifestyle while fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship.

French

We believe that learning an additional language is an essential skill that offers significant social and cognitive benefits. Our French program not only teaches students the language but also immerses them in French culture. This comprehensive approach supports students in developing strong linguistic skills and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.

Students have the opportunity to practise their French by participating in the Alliance Française’s French Poetry competition. We also celebrate a vibrant French Day, where students dress in blue, red, and white, enjoy crêpes, and take part in a French-themed incursion.
