Toorak Primary’s Book Week has been colourful and exciting, as reflected in the photos below. As usual, parents and students alike are to be congratulated on their imaginative and inspired costume choices on Dress Up Day. The playground was awash with colour and drama.
On Tuesday morning, we were entertained by Brian Nankervis, poet and media personality who shared poems and stories with students and teachers, many of whom bravely took the stage.
On Wednesday morning, many parents and grandparents accepted our invitation to come to read with their children in classrooms to share a love of books.
The community has also been very supportive of our Scholastic Book Fair. Our library captains, Darcy and Abigail did a great job promoting the fair and parents were very generous supporting our fundraising efforts. All profits will go to purchasing new books for our refurbished library. Thank you to the many teachers who helped run the Bookfair before and after school. This includes Ms Selisher, Mr Patterson, Mrs Kelly, Ms Milligan, Miss Welton, Miss Segrave, Miss Disseldorp, Miss Robinson and especially Mrs Lomas and the office ladies.
A big thanks to all who participated in Book Week on behalf of the Literacy Team.
