It’s a cold and wet Winter’s day on which we return to school for Term Three. All students and staff arrived this morning fully rested and energised in preparation for yet another busy time. Our major focus for the term will be the school musical,”Peter Pan Junior”. I was very impressed with the year five students as they made their way to the hall for a practice session this morning. Teachers have ensured that the musical songs, and scripts are being integrated into the language curriculum so that we can cover all aspects of the school curriculum throughout the school week.
New wool carpet was installed into the original school building over the school holidays. The feel of the new carpet under foot is quite luxurious and should be very comprotable for our students to sit on during floor time. The new carpet replaced very old, worn carpet which was installed approximately twelve years ago. I would like to thank both Clare Cousins and Susi Leeton for liaising with several carpet companies to ensure the most suitable product was selected for our school.
The stairs at the western end of the school have progressed over the holiday period. I have been in consultation with the Education Department to determine a completion date. I am reilaibly informed that the stairs will be ready within the next week or so. Fingers crossed! Thank you to all community members for your patience during this drawnout process.
Once again, welcome back for Semester Two.
