We could feel the excitement flowing amongst the Year 5s this morning as they gathered at school ready for their adventure to Camp Manyung. After a brisk coach ride, we arrived at our sunny destination of Mount Eliza. Students were silent, eagerly awaiting their cabin and activity group allocations, before settling into their new accommodation.
After lunch, we had our first two activity rotations. Students participated in either; Beach Carnival, Marine Discovery, Flying Fox, Leadership Challenge, Sea Kayaking, Raft Building, Archery or the Tree Top Challenge.
‘It was kind of scary but really, really fun being on the tree-top challenge because it was 20m in the air,’ Lucas L
‘We did Marine Discovery and it was really fun because we found some really cool things; like a crab, a pufferfish and sea glass. Then in the Beach carnival my team, the Dolphins, smashed the Sharks,’ Lily A
‘In Archery we had to shoot aiming for the outside rings, then made our way into the inside rings. Edouardo got a bullseye,’ Saffron G
After tiring themselves out during the course of the day, students had a short night hike and watched a movie, before settling quietly into bed for the night.
